Behind the Artist
Elissa "Ellie" Pickle began her art journey as a young girl in the American Southwest. As the years passed, fingerpaints and watercolors gave way to gouache and acrylics, even as colorful portraits and landscapes gave way to elaborate abstracts and galaxy-scapes. A natural empath, Ellie infuses each of her works with a unique intensity of energy and heart, as she channels her emotions into her artwork. She is married to a wonderful man who lifts her up, inspires, her, and enables and encourages her in every endeavor, creative or otherwise. She lives in North Georgia where she enjoys chaos gardening, cooking delicious meals and treats, taking long walks, spending time with her husband, and working part-time as a social media manager for a local business. The rest of her time is spent working on art and other creative projects.
I’m inspired to paint by the wildflowers of late summer, the moths and butterflies that captured my heart in the heat of Texas summers of my childhood, by the wild and otherworldly beauty of the Arizona Sunsets, by Oklahoma summer evenings sparkling with the light of a million fireflies, by the moon light dancing off the ocean walking the seawall on a New Jersey summer night.
The Dream
Ellie’s Art Haven
I love spending hours in my studio, painting, creating, and dreaming. I want to inspire others to find joy, solace, and purpose in creativity. To that end my ultimate dream is to open a studio that is a creative haven, especially for those with disabilities or on the neurodivergent spectrum.
Ellie’s Art Haven will be a place to joyfully explore creativity in a variety of mediums - from crafting to fine art - in an environment that is welcoming and celebrating to those with disabilities, sensory accommodations and more.
The proceeds of my sales go directly to saving for the dream studio! If you’re interested in donating, or collaborating to make Ellie’s Art Haven a reality, reach out to me on our contact form!
